As a result, all components of the bearing will expand due to heat, making it easier for materials to invade and adhere. This leads to an increase in the running resistance of the bearing rolling elements, causing small pockmarks or pitted peeling on the surface of the rolling elements. The peeling metal will adhere to the surface of the raceway, causing it to become rough.
